Audio in Capture, Not in Timeline

I'm new to Sony Vegas, but not to editing. I'm a FCP and Avid girl. Anyway I capture video from my panasonic pv-Gs65 this morning and everything went well... or so I thought. I could see video and hear audio when I played the clip straight out of the capture tool (after it had captured). However, when I moved the clip over to the "Project Media" tab, there was no audio! It's so aggravating. What did I do wrong??

Capturing through the Vidcap application in Vegas (which version of Vegas by the way?) via firewire should always capture both video and audio.

If you were hearing the audio during capture then I would expect that was captured but a few more details would help answering your question.

Can I suggest you fill out your systems specs in your account settings so that we can offer better advice.

When you drop the video onto the timeline from Project Media are you seeing an associated audio track and waveform?

In the mean time try searching the Vegas audio and Video Forums for threads with similar subjects as there may be an answer already here.
