Audio in timeline/preview, but none once rendered

Video and audio tracks open correctly in Vegas 8a (and also play sound and video from the timeline in preview) but once rendered I only have video and no sound. I'm pretty much a noob at this time with Vegas. I have been through every menu that I can access, and help files, but to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated.

(The video file was imported direct from a Canon Full HD camera and I am rendering in Vegas as Blu-ray 1920x1080 50i. Am running Vista Ultimate 32-bit.)

check out your render template - the type of file you're making and it's details. Try wav and see if you get anything.
Also, not to be snide but check the documentation, it's pretty good!

Solved - thanks, ultrafinriz. It was as simple as customising the rendering template by de-selecting "make separate audio and video streams" under the "system" tab. I had several times tried customing but had missed the "system" tab, thinking that the solution lay somewhere under the "audio" tab.

I read how you helped someone else with a sound problem and I was hoping you could help me. I just bought Vegas 8 and am having a problem with the sound. The media is imported without any problem and it plays in the preview with sound. I only want a 45 second clip from the 5 minute video so I split the video and audio before and after what I want leaving the 45 second clip. When I move the remaining 45 second clip that has both audio and video it only plays the video. There is no sound but I can see that there is sound there under the video in the project media windows. I don't know if I muted something or not. Thanks for your help.
