Received the Canopus ADVC-100 today for X-mas to go along with my newly purchased Vegas Video 3.0 so I couldn't wait to transfer some analog video and convert it to digital. Transferred an episode of the "Soap" TV sitcom thru the ADVC-100 and used Vegas Video to capture it. Came out perfect. Rendered to MPEG2 with the Vegas Video MainConcept encoder. Saved the file to hard drive then opened the file in Windows Media Player, Power DVD and of course played the file back thru Vegas Video. Everything was fine, sound in sync. I then transferred the file into Ulead VideoStudio 6 to burn a DVD. Previewed the file first, played perfect. When I went to burn to DVD, I noticed it rendered the file again (just what I didn't want) although it took nowhere near the time that Vegas Video took. When I played the DVD, the sound was out of sync. so I brought the file into Dazzle DVD Complete. I noticed that Dazzle rendered the audio again (appears the audio was originally Mpeg1 so I assume Dazzle rendered it to Mpeg2) anyway, when I burned that DVD that Dazzle made, it was just fine, sound was in sync, no problems. Now, after that lengthy intro (sorry about that) what are most people using for their authoring software? I don't really care for Dazzle's menu and chapter set-up but if it burns the DVD fine I guess I have to use it. I like VideoStudio 6's chapter & Menu set-up but if it throws the audio out of sync, no good. I have one other program I could use and that being Pinnacle's studio 8, anybody using it? Any ideas would sure be appreciated. Thanks.
Audio is okay, then it's not okay!
