Audio Level Drops in Rendered Movie

I have a single track of audio that I added some track compression to. The levels appeared to be okay when looking at the Master meter. After rendering to a new track, when I listen to the soloed rendered audio, the audio has dropped about 3 dB according to the Master meter and sounds more muffled. Why might that be happening? Shouldn't the audio levels be the same before and after rendering?

Yes, the Master Fader is at the default which is 0.

In the compressor, you have to either check/activate the "auto gain compensation" if it has it or manually compensate for the attenuation with the output gain.
