audio loss in DVD Studio 2.0 build 22

I am using DVD Architect Studio 2.0 (build 22).

I have done several projects, probably a dozen or so. I always render NTSC-DV .avi files to use when I create DVDs.

On at least three of the 12 or so projects, when I burn the first DVD and play it back, there is either no audio present, or the audio 'disappears' at some point during playback, and it never 'reappears'. Once it reaches the point where it goes, it's gone for the rest of the DVD.

What I have had to go is go back, start over with a new DVD Studio project, re-render and re-burn and viola! Audio is fine. Note that I don't have to re-render the .avi file, which is fine all along.

What am I doing wrong? or is this a bug?

Thank you,

Jay Enterkin

Try and post this in the DVD-A forum. There might be more experiences there.

Thanks, I started out there - and they sent me to this forum.

I also emailed Sony Tech Support about two weeks ago and haven't even gotten a reply....

I am experiencing the same problem.

I just installed Movie Studio on a brand new Sony, compile the movie, and send it directly to DVD Architect and get no sound.

It looks find in Movie Studio, and when I preview the movie as an AVI in an external player, it too looks fine, but the three times I have moved it to DVD Architect to burn to DVD, the finished product has no sound. Nor does it have any sound when previewed in Architect.

Hey,

I went back and check some older threads and came across this.....

"......into Preferences and make sure that "close media files when not the active application is unchecked..... Ian G."

I unchecked this box under preference in Movie Studio, and that has fixed my problem. Not sure why, but thanks Ian G.
