Audio lost

I have put together a video with a mix of .mp3s and recorded voice from my XL1s camera. After rendering to mpeg2, burned to DVD and then transferred to VHS, I lose audio from the voice track. However, the .mp3s that are on a different audio track work fine. Also, when playing the DVD, the voice and sound comes through.

I'm using Vegas 4 and DVD architect.

If the voice comes through on the DVD, but gets lost on the VHS, then the prob is in transferring the DVD to VHS. How are you doing the conversion & have you tried non-ac3 audio?

I'm simply plugging the DVD out to the VCR. I've had a bit more success by combining the audio channels. I only lose audio when I use the wireless mic system.

Is the voice only on ONE channel? (i.e. stereo left or stereo right only?) If so, make sure that side is plugged in. Or better yet, make sure, in Vegas while editing, that you put the voice on BOTH sides.

The audio is on both channels. When viewing in Vegas, If I do a combine, I get just some faint voices being heard, much like the VHS tape sounds if I record it directly from the DVD. If I do L or R only, I get the voices clear or if I do Both, the voices are clear. The strange thing is that the only problem I have is when I use the Sony wireless mic. I have my XL1s set to 16bit audio using Audio 1. My solution to this to date has been to combine the audio channels, print to tape and then dub from DV to VHS. I would like to be able to use both audio channels and go from preferably DVD to VHS.
