audio meter levels

Hi all,

Looking for some verification of what is normal range for dialogue on the audio meters? (using vegas 6) What is the low and the peak you should see..(for broadcast)

-6 on peaks for editing, and then push to -3 if you don't have other events taking place around the dialog that you need the extra range for. Personally, I generally push hotter, and have only had 2 tapes returned in the recent years.
I use the iZotope Ozone to push/pound on levels. I also use WAVES UltraMaximizer.

From reading Jay Rose's books, it seems like:

Digital formats:
peaks should never exceed 8dB over tone.
-12dBFS tone for consumer formats like miniDV
-18dBFS for PAL
-20dBFS for pro video formats like DVCPRO, DVCAM, digibeta

Analog formats:
peaks shouldn't exceed 4dB over 0VU tone.
