Audio not coming up when converting to video

I have Vegas Movie Studio Plantinum 8.0 and I am making a movie which has both audio and video.

After I convert it to a wmv video, i can see the video fine, however i can not hear the audio when viewing the movie and I know it is not because my speakers are not working.

Why is this? Am I doing something wrong and is there a special setting to select if I want the audio to convert along with the movie?

PS: when previewing the video in Vegas Movie Studio Plantinum 8.0 i can here the audio fine.

Under custom settings for WMV renders there are separate tabs for audio and video, and in each tab there is a checkbox for inclusion. Is it possible that you've got the audio turned off?

As far as i can remember all the included WMV templates include both audio and video. It seems like the only way for audio to get turned off is for you to do it yourself and save this as a new template, then choose that template when rendering. Seems like you would have remembered doing that. But in any case, check that box under custom / audio and see what you find.

File, render as, WMV filetype, CUSTOM button.

How are you viewing the .wmv file? What software are you playing it in?

I've tried playing it in Windows Media Player as well VLC Media Player, however, I am sure that there is no sound because when I inserted the .wmv file into Windows Movie Maker, it showed that there were no sound files.

I then inserted the sound files into Windows Movie Maker and then converted it from there and it worked fine with the sound. But I do not want to go through that hassle every time I want to make a movie. The problem must be something in Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0.

Would you suggest that I remove Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0 from my computer and download and install it again?
