Audio out of Sync , bug?

All of the sudden I have started having the audio out of sync problem rear its ugly head on me.
I'm using Cineform intermeadiates If I split the clip a few times and move it on the time line(with the video and audio grouped/locked together the audio goes out of sync.
The events do not turn red indicating that they out of sync playback is 29 maybe 26 fps so its not reallly lagging.
to resync I have to ungroup and shift the audio by sometimes 1 frame sometimes 2 frames.
It now shows the red events and the offset, but the audio is in sync now.
If I open the original clip up in another instance of Vegas with out splitting it its of course in sync.

I have tried uninstalling Vegas and reinstalling (normally ,not going into the registry and manually deleting anything.

I did just install a FireWire 410 a few days back but it seemed to be working fine then, however, I did update the drivers to their newest one.
Could that be messing up Vegas? I have tried selecting microsoft sound mapper instead of the asio 's in the audio tab but nothing changes, besides the clips audio?video link is somehow discombobulated.

I saw the post that Jesariah had posted with what sounds like(excuse the pun) the same issue but the thread died with no answers.

does anybody have some suggestions?

Not sure, I've got a 410 myself and I haven't updated it for a while.
But how do you know your A/V is really out of sync? Have you checked say a clapper or some identifiable A/V event on the timeline?
Or does it just sound out of sync?
Making it sound in sync could be a formula for real problems if all you're doing is compensating for something in your monitoring setup.
However I think somewhere in the Vegas preference you can adjust the Av/V delay, if it's only a monitoring problem that's where I'd be looking.
Also what is your ASIO buffer size?
Maybe since you updated the drivers the delay through the 410 has become less (or more!) and that's upset things.
But first find out just what you're dealing with.
Bob.

I can tell by an audio/visual clue that its out.If I zoom way in the spike on say a tap of a hammer is off with the frame by one or two frames.

if i go to a clip farther up the timeline, that has not been moved or split it plays fine.

ASIO size is at 256 same as default, havent changed it.

Its definately happening to the clip I first discovered it when I burn a test DVD of a portion of the project and all of the sudden one of the clips looked like an old kung fu dubbed film.
