Audio Out of Sync only when Printing to Tape

I have a 30+ minute VF production that has been rendered to the big broadcast-quality NTSC 30 FPS AVI file. It looks and sounds fine: There are no Audio sync problems playing it back on the computer using the VF software, or when playing using Windows Media Player. After printing this AVI file back to DV Tape, however, the audio begins in sync, but slowly drifts out of sync by about 5 seconds by the time we get to the end 30 minutes later. Is there some option I need to check? I have left everything on the default settings.

Using Windows XP-Pro
Dual Processor AMD-1800 @ 1.4gHz
Tyan Motherboard
Creative Audigy Sound/Firewire frontpanel unit
Sony DV cam

If you are truly using the 30fps avi, you might change it to 29.97. Broadcast tv is 29.97fps. This might be causing your audio drift.

Are you running the latest version 2.0c? There is a bug fix listed in the readme file that sounds like what you are experiencing.

Yes, it's at 29.97 fps. I was just rounding.

I have VF 2.0 (Build 69). I read the readme and unchecked the "Preview Audio" choice. I re-printed to DV tape. The audio is still drifting out of sync, but I could swear it's out of synch by less than before... about 3 seconds. What else can I try?

Download and install version 2.0c (Build 125) from here.

Eureka! That worked, Jim! Duh... why didn't I think of looking for an updated version? I'm in bidness now....

I had a horrible time with sychronization in VW5 and took the plunge with VF. I re-edited a 43 minute tape in VF and it played fine in Media Player but the audio went out of synch in VF when trying to record to tape. I went to the website, saw the other suggestions and downloaded 2.0c. The download took 2 and 1/2 hours, but it worked! I just copied the .avi file to tape and it is perfectly synchronized. What gets me is that I bought VF directly from Sonic Foundry last week, and you would have thought they would have sent me the updated version.
