Audio overlaps but video doesn't problem

I have a problem where some clips won't butt up the audio like the video. I'll try to explain. None are problem clips mentioned in my other post (extra audio on capture). And not all clips act this way.
I put one clip on the timeline, then add another. If I drag it up against the first clip via clicking on the video part, the video snaps the two dark blue triangles together (top corners of clips) into one big dark blue triangle but the audio triangles turn into one small light blue triangle (overlap). If I click on the audio part and drag, the audio turns into one large triangle and the video does also. But then there is a space between video clips of one black frame. The video triangles are touching, even if you do a mega zoom-in on the timeline.
If I trim the first clip back some, then return it to the original length is will fix itself "sometimes".
I've tried turning off grid and marker snapping, didn't change anything.
Any ideas ?

Well, it looks like the clips that have this problem do have some extra audio also. You see it when you zoom in ALL THE WAY. It's about one sample = 1/48,000 of a second. Looking at other clips that behave fine show some that have extra video. Very weird.
So both of my problems are caused by the same thing, extra audio on capture. I just tried changing the vidcap 2.5 project properties/misc/time format from "time & frames" to "SMPTE drop" and it didn't help. I'll try the other settings. The clip after the 18 min. clip captured with the same extra four frames of audio even tho I didn't capture the whole 18 min. clip before it, just a few seconds of it. So it is consistant.
Anyone have any ideas. I'm using a Sony D8 camera.
