In VV you need to do a PTT for audio to play out via 1394/firewire. THe audio will render to *.w64 format first.

The other way is to render out your project and than use the capture mod to output to tape. You just load up the files you want (All have to be the same DV format - mixing 24p and 30i won't work) and "preview on external monitor."

The only other way is to run cables from your sound card to your TV. A few people run audio out to a mixer and than send that feed to where-ever it needs to go. TV, VCR, Studio monitrs and so forth.
