Audio problems

I have transferred 8mm video to DVD+RW and now to the harddrive. I plays fine with Nero showtime but not with Windows Media Player...no sound. I am trying to edit the video with Screen Blaster Movie but I can't get any audio..just video. What is happening?

What did you use to burn it or then rip it to the hardrive? Maybe if only Nero plays it, it's in a priority format. (?) Seems strange that no other program can find the audio. Sorry no suggestions, but I would need more info.

Thanks for responding. I transferred the DVD to hard drive using Nero.
