Audio Question

Why does my left audio channel sound so rich and full, and when I "combine" , or choose "left only" (the channel recorded to) the audio sounds tinny.
Same when I create a second channel and swap it to achieve two tracks.

Also in the past I've gotten two tracks after processing through Levelator, and that isn't happening now.

Have any changes been made in your monitoring configuration that could affect phase? I can't comment on Levelator, not being a user, but if combining, duplicating or monitoring a single channel in a stereo monitoring configuration produces a difference in sound quality, I would look at out-of-phase possibilities post-Vegas - in external wiring or if using the computer's sound card, at internal configuration. Is everything, including the Vegas project, set to stereo?

Typical out-of-phase symptoms. +1 atom12
Same for Levelator.

I swapped the left and right inputs on mixer, and now the right channel is rich and full and the left channel is tinny sounding.
What does that say, faulty cable?
Settings in Delta 44 seem OK, same in Vegas properties.

No, that's not it.

I haven't used the Delta series in a while, but check its internal configuration panel too. Make sure there's not a setting in the Delta that changes one channel's phase or attenuation (line vs. mic).

Edit. Check speaker cables and any outputs from Delta card also to make sure phase is maintained.
