Are you running asio or mme ?

ASIO and I have tried diffferent latency settings.....

Pipe's got the right idea. Go into Preferences and try ASIO first then Classic, stay away from the Mappers.

If you get the same results with ASIO and Classic go into the Delta control panel and increase the buffer size.

Also it's best to set up your Temp and recording folders on a separate drive than your OS.

OK - great - Classic Wave driver in Prefs. works - BUT - will this affect latency adversely? that is - by not using the ASIO drivers that came with the sound card
Thanks fultro

Adversely, I doubt it, give it a go and see. It depends on your work-flow.

You may also consider raising the buffer in the Delta control panel and testing ASIO again. In the M-Audio manual this is the solution for pops and clicks. Another possible solution is to use the included uninstaller for the M-Audio drivers, reboot and reinstall.

>>BUT - will this affect latency adversely?<<

You can avoid latency altogether by using a small mixer for monitoring. A $50 Behringer will do just fine for this.
