audio schreeching/glitching problem

I have a problem with vegas pro 18, when I put my video in the timeline (1080p and 6CH) I can hear glitching noise in the background and it's not a problem with my video since it works fine in the other software and when I play it normally. This is a new problem because I used to edit similar videos like this one (1080p and 6CH) and everything was fine. Even when I open my old project that I started in the past with this kind of media it works.

I've seen online that the problem can be connected to the so4 compound reader and I changed settings but the problem was not fixed.

Do you know what is the problem and how can I fix it?

We probably need some specific information about the media you are having problems with.

There have been reports of screeching type sounds with MP3 files in Vegas (and Sound Forge). Reinstalling often fixes it in many cases.. if it is in fact an MP3 codec issue. Search "MP3" on the VP and SF forums. Otherwise, try rendering the audio to a new track, open copy in audio editor, or transcoding it to a PCM file in another application.

Not that this is what's going on, but I find that when I play something in quicktime player, I get this same glitchy sound. But if I play the same thing in windows media player or vegas or soundforge or protools, it's fine. In my case, it's an issue whereby Windows 10 is competing with the ASIO driver for my MOTU interface. Windows 7 behaved properly, but not so in 10. Try different drivers for your sound card/audio interface and see if this affects it.
