Is there a script for adding a short fade up and fade down to an audio clip. Actually, it would be even better if it added fade handles upon dragging from trimmer.

Certainly. Here's One that will add a 1 second fade in/out. However, it won't do it automatically upon dragging to the timeline. You'll have to select the event and then run the script.
