Audio script request

Thought I'd ask this since scripting isn't my forte. Is there a script around that can automatically take the audio from a video clip and copy it to a new track and then isolate the channels so that only the left channel audio is on audio track 1, and only the right hand side audio is on audio track 2?

The "Stereo Split" tool in Excalibur does this. However, the process is VERY simple. Take a look at this script to perform this task and see how it's done.
