Audio Starts Automatically on DVD Main Menu

Hello - I am experiencing something new with a newly-burned DVD in DVD Architect (Version 5.0 Build 197, Windows 10 Home). When I tested the DVD in my TV/DVD setup, the DVD main menu appeared, and then I heard the video's audio start (they're classroom/lecture-style DVD's). I've never had this happen before (after years of burning dozens of DVD's for lots of various projects); I want the DVD Main Menu (with "PLAY" and "SCENE SELECTION" links) to appear and not do anything until the viewer presses the "PLAY" link, goes into the "SCENE SELECTION", or presses "Play" on their remote/DVD player. Hopefully this makes sense, please let me know if you need any additional information for this. Thank you!

Can you post some screenshots of your project?

Hi, Dot - Thank you for your prompt reply.

As it happens, I created a new project (made it identical to the first), burned another DVD, tested it, and the problem is gone. I have no idea what happened with the first project...

Since I want to make sure that I don't do this again (thankfully the DVD project required very little work to reproduce from scratch), I've attached screenshots from my first faulty project here. I did check and make sure that my Main Menu "PLAY" button was NOT set to Auto-activate -- but the first project still started the audio automatically anyway... weird... If you need any additional screenshots, please let me know, I'm not sure if there's a window that you are interested in viewing to confirm my settings.

THANK YOU!!!

I have never created a project using Submenus, which it looks like you have done. That could be an issue, but I don't know.

I see that you have audio under your menu. Did it not play that audio?

Looks like you set the audio stream of your main feature as the background audio for your menu. When "automatically link similar audio & video files" is activated under "Options -> Preferences", it is possible that DVDA automatically added the audio track when you set the menu-backround (if the name for the audio track was the same as for the backround video track). You could save time by using the internal preview function of DVDA for debugging before you burn a disc.

It did play the audio. I got a reply from MAGIX's tech support, which was as follows:

This issue can be resolved by removing the audio from the menu timeline.  This will cause the main menu to still play, but it will be video only until the user chooses to navigate away from the menu and play a video object which contains an audio stream.

I think this is what Shadow is referring to as well. Now I am careful to go "Insert" > "Media" to insert the video into the project, and since I've been careful to do that, I haven't had the same issue. I think I'm good on what I did. I do always preview the DVD, but for that one I must've clicked off the Main Menu before the audio had a chance to start playing (I put a 1 second fade-in from black for all of my videos, so the audio wouldn't have started right away so I could catch it). Once I discovered the problem with my first burned disc, I came back to my DVD project, previewed it, and waited on the Main Menu & sure enough I heard the audio.

THANK YOU Dot & Shadow for your replies, and thank you MAGIX Tech Support Help as well.
