Audio: Stream attributes could not be determined, MPEG Layer-3

I have a video file which is reported by VV3 as:

Video: 384x288x24, 25.000 fps, 01:29:12:05, DivX MPEG-4 Video Codec
Audio: Stream attributes could not be determined, MPEG Layer-3

In Windows Explorere, file properties for the file, the audio format is shown as MPEG Layer-3, 12.00 Kb/second, 48.00 kHz, 2(Stereo) and video compressor is DIVXMPG4 V3.

I am using Win2K Pro.

Why cant VV3 understand MPEG Layer-3? Isn't this the same as mp3? Whats happening?

This is a user->user forum. Tech Support isn't necessarily going to respond to your posts here. But we will, the fellow users.

If you want help from them, send them an email or give them a call.

DivX isn't a supported file format for Vegas:

The audio attributes for a DivX file are different than standard MPEG audio compression. It's not exactly like the Fraunhofer codec, which is what is used in Sofo's apps for MPEG audio layer 3 compression/decompression. Sonic Foundry won't be able to consistently decompress the divX audio stream.
