Audio Studio 14 elicenser failure

Dave-Usher wrote on 7/10/2021, 5:43 PM

I purchased soundforge 14 and registered it. when I run it, i get a popup that says
"Soft E-licenser does not have enough permissions to run properly. Please run LCC to fix this problem".
When I click OK, I get a bunch of error popups for plugins that came with my Steinberg UR-44 saying "Application <plugin name> has caused the following error: eLicenser(s) contain(s) no valid license for this application", and i have to click thru all the popups before studio 14 will launch.

I dont care about using these plugins. How do I tell Soundforge Studio 14 not to scan/load those plugins??

Can you just uninstall the plugins that come with ur44? It's probably the Basic FX Suite causing the trouble.

Or you can try to fix the eLicenser. Do you have license for those plugins? Usually running the eLicenser as administrator and let it do the maintenance fixes a lot of problems.

Steinberg's eLicencer is probably the clunkiest most user unfriendly licensing system I have ever encountered over many many decades. It's 'go here, then go there, then do this, and then click this, and then hope it works'. At least it's about to be modernised. Hopefully, it will be more like iZotope's licensing system which is so simple from the user's pov where all the licensing/activation stuff happens behind the scenes.
