I created a QuickTime movie from a 20 minute long MTS file. I've not had problems with audio syncing up in the past, but the person who asked for the QT version reported the audio was out of sync. I see from other posts that MTS might have problems with syncing for longer videos -- but I don't think 20 minutes would count as "long".
I see a number of posts saying to use Handbrake or Super for rendering, but if one is going to do any editing in Vegas, it does have to be rendered out as something. I'm new to video editing and perhaps I'm missing something here. Vegas does not touch the source file and thus rendering it using an external application would miss any editing. Should I be using Handbrake on the master MTS file and then pulling it into Vegas?
I'm using VGS Platinum 11 on Windows 7. The master files are 1080p 30 from a Canon XA10.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
