audio sync with slow motion

I wanted to ask couple questions to the experienced people.

I have a 15 minutes AVCHD 1080p, 60P clip. I wanted to do a slow motion somewhere in the middle for a minute. Can I do this w/o cutting the clip. I know how to do the slow motion using CTRL + drag option. but for that you need to cut the clip.
Also when you make slow motion, how do you sync the audio accordingly.

You could use the velocity envelope. Select the clip. Right click/Velocity. Double click on the green band to create a control point. Drag it up down. Right click on the control point for more options.

The velocity envelope has no effect on the audio, so that won't help you sync at all.

Easiest way to maintain audio sync is to cut the clip at the beginning and end of the slow motion section and then Ctrl-drag it out. The audio should stretch with the video. If not, select both and Group them first, or just simply Ctrl-drag the audio to match the video after the video is stretched.

Yes, if you don't want to 'cut', use the velocity envelope as above, 'U' to ungroup, then ctrl/drag the audio to match the video as Chien sez above.

Realize that you are not actually "cutting the clip."
Each time you split an event, it leaves a fully functional copy of the event: so splitting a section out of the middle actually leaves you three full copies of the original event. The original media file is unaffected.

If you have Sound Forge installed with Sony Vegas the right click open a copy in Sound Forge insert pitch bend and set an envelope to match . Save back to Vegas

To do this accurately you will have to copy markers from Vegas over to SF.
Does anyone have any idea how to get markers from Vegas TL into Sound Forge?
