Audio/Video Sync in Preview Mode

Wondering if anyone has seen this and can recommend a fix?

Sw: MovieStudioPlatinum 6.0 build 85
When I capture output from 2 camcorders and a separate mike track, I can meld them all together into the timeline. I ungroup the camcorder vid and sound, then create a new group combining all 5 tracks together. I can preview/listen and all seems OK, although I only see the top most video track. But I can "mute" this video track, and see the other vid track poking through, and all is in sync.

All appears OK.

Then I start putting S splits (although it does all tracks) in the top video track and doing fades, etc with the lower video track. Again, all seems OK.

However, when I preview, the lower video track is not lipsync with the audio track. But when I use the make movie wizard and create a WMV output, the final file seems OK, with all the fades and sound syncs OK.

Is there a problem with preview that I won't see things exactly as they are?
Do I have to re-do the sound syncs AFTER the splits to get it all correct, and then make movie?

Thanks for any advice.

Have you tried pre-rendering that section of your project? See the help topic "Selectively Prerender Video".

No, I have not done a pre-render in this case, but will give it a go.

Just noted a suggestion in a later posting regarding the Preview that DSE mantioned; the questioner tried it and it worked.

That is, set the Previiew mode in VMS to Preview/Auto than Best/Auto.

No. It sounds like your processor is simply lagging. Are you previewing with the window set at Preview/Auto? That's usually the optimal setting.
