Audio Volume Line

I want to insert a volume line so that I can adjust the audio.
I do it like I always do it without any problem: Insert : Audio Envelopes : Volume.
Now it wont work anymore, I do not get the blue line.
Who can help?
This is with Vegas 6

View / Show Envelopes. Maybe?

Or the keyboard shortcut "V" (after clicking on the track you want)
("P" for pan)
