Audio Wave Froms

Sony vegas platinum 11

Hopefully this will help someone else out. I was searching high and low including the help file to find a way to view the audio waveform during playback . Most similar questions had no response or nothing worthwhile.

Finally one person on the entire word wide web suggested pressing
Ctrl+Shift+W and it worked perfectly . Why is this a such a mystery and why isn't that documented. More importantly, isn't there a setting or preference somewhere so you can make this a default? The help file says there is and it is located in Preferences>audio tab, which it was,,but only for recording. For playback, I would need to press the Advanced button and of course there is none on my Audio Tab.

Hi blueman2,

The setting is located under the View menu -> Audio Event Waveforms. It is on by default.

Hope this helps,

That helps big time. Thanks. Why can't they just list that in the help file?

First thing i do with a new version is to pull down all the menus and look at all the commands and options that are there. I even try most of them and say to myself, "oh hey, that's what that one does!" Then at least i'm familiar with all the functions and later on can remember that i found that thing i'm looking for now and that's where it was.

Most of the menu names are very obvious and it's a lot faster than reading the manual.

Because audio waveforms is enabled by default. That means you changed it.
