Audio with takes

Hi,

I recorded audio using the latest version (201) in a loop and it created takes.  I can play it back fine and choose which take to use if that particular recording is left on the timeline.  If I remove it from the timeline and then put it back it loads it as a single take but it shows a marker for each take.  If I right click on the audio clip in the media bin and drag it to the time line it gives me the option to "add as takes" but it doesn't do it.  Is this malfunctioning?  Am I doing something wrong? A preference that needs be set?

The short version - how do I load an audio clip to the time line so that it uses the take information?

Thanks,

James

When you say you "right click on the audio clip in the media bin and drag it to the time line" – does this mean you move it right onto the existing audio event? Because this is the only way to add takes.

Thank you very much for your response.  If I right-click and drag the audio with takes embedded onto an existing audio event it does load it with the take information.  In order to get it to work I need to have an audio event on the timeline that is the exact same length as the take loop length.
