Audio won't sync with lips

Hello again all! I am new to Vegas Pro 8 and have a new dilema. I have been given a project that has .mod files from a digital video recorder. Vegas won't let me import them. The only thing it will let me do is drag them directly into the timeline. When I render the project, the audio doesn't sync with the lips! HELP???

Also, the video looks good in preview, but when rendered it stretches the frame.

You should convert the .mod file to an MPEG or AVI. Simply changing the file extension 'may' work, though I've never encountered .mod files. Make sure the same frame rate on the original .mod file is set in the Vegas video properties.

You may have the render aspect ratio parameters set to 16:9 instead of 4:3.
