Audio zoom in viewing glitches

Okay this has been plaguing me for YEARS and I'm finally posting about it. There is this strange inconsistent glitch that doesn't always happen and is very intermittent. Usually happens when I have more than one audio track, when zooming in to sync tracks, the master track will suddenly change view. Either go all distorted looking or go flat line, making it impossible to view the track properly and get my work done.

Now I'm working off a 2TB hard drive that is internal connected to SATA. It's not my main OS hard drive, but a second one. Initially this glitch was happening when editing off an external hard drive connected to USB. That would make sense. So I started copying any files from my extra video storage external hard drives that I wanted to edit onto my internal temporarily to avoid that. However, sometimes it still happens even from there. It's really REALLY frustrating and makes it impossible to continue with a project.

Now this has been happening for years. Several different computers, versions of Vegas, and versions of Windows. What gives? This shouldn't be happening. Come on, Sony. This is a long time glitch that has been happening for YEARS regardless of versions, devices, and computers. Please fix this. It's annoying and hampers my progress.

Okay, I tried something that worked get rid of the issue for this one project. I closed out Vegas and deleted the .scc and .sfk files and had them reload when I opened the project back up in Vegas. Seems to zoom in just fine now. But why would it do this glitch in the first place? It's really REALLY annoying.

There are times when the audio would completely shift within field while zooming and wouldn't even render properly. It doesn't make sense. Sometimes the audio just messes up for no reason when dealing with multiple tracks.
