Author question

I used the templates NTCS Architect Video Stream (mpeg-2) and AC-3 audio stream in Vegas. I didn't change any of the defaults. I did (probably shouldn't have) hit fill the whole disc when burning in DVDA. I need to make changes anyway so I'm going to make those changes and then burn another disc. I was wondering besides not hit the box "fill the whole disc" should I change the bitrate in DVDA to something lower than 8.0? Or will that cause DVDA to render mpeg file which I don't want?

I played in on my 3 year DVD player and had no problem. I'm assuming the default bitrate was 8.00 because I used the templates in Vegas and did not go into the advance options.

Bottom line: will I be ok?

Thanks.

If you renderd from Vegas with the template for NTSC DVD Arch., then you have variable bit rate, average 6,000 & max 8,000. Which is perfectly fine for a lot of material.

Normally, DVDA should not be re-rendering your MPEG; if it is, then something's wrong (like your project is too big to fit on the DVD).
