Auto backup Movie Studio 12

When my Movie studio 12 freezes up and I restarted it, it use to say program didn't shut down properly do you want to save, now it doesn't. I have auto saved enabled but my BAK file is in Vegas Movie Studio HD. When I try to open that it says upgrade to new program. Help!

Are you sure the program isn't just suggesting that you download the latest version of Movie Studio 12?

Check to see if "Automatically open last project on startup" is enabled in Options > Preferences > General.

I'm not sure if that's it but worth a look.
