I've recently used VV30 to archive my 7-LP set of Beethoven's nine symphonies. I know this sounds weird, but the CD player in my car refuses to play the Eroica (Symphony No. 3).
I've cut this disc three times at varying speeds. Each cut plays fine everywhere else (in my DVD player, my component CD player, any of my computer CD players). The other 8 sypmphonies play fine in my car. I use one of those 50-disc spindle holders to tote my "rolling" stock . . . every disc in the stack plays fine except Beethoven's 3rd.
I hope someone here will 'splain it to me. My brain tells me it's not possible for some sort of pattern in the music to cause this. That piece when played in my car exhibits all the characteristics of buffer under run. Clicks, skips, loops. The defects do not always appear at the same point during subsequent playings of the disc. Sometimes you can get three or four minutes in before the problems start. At other times, the problems start at the very beginning.
My CD player includes a cassette player as well. I may have to resort to that medium.
I'm wonderin' if someone at SF can write a fix for this.
