Auto Dialogue Levelling As In Resolve

First, many thanks as Vegas is FINALLY working really well for me. Why? I could speculate, but I cant be bothered.

Resolve has an incredible new Audio feature that will level sound automatically between clips, remove background noise etc. It's amazing.

I presume you're working on something and it will come as a major upgrade in Vegas 21?

Sound Forge has a variety of compressor/limiter, expander/gates and restoration plug-ins included to choose from, which is included with most versions of VP. There are literally hundreds of other compressor/limiter plug-ins available for free and otherwise. The 'one-size-fits-all' automatic plug-in presets leave a lot to be desired but may be a good starting point for more precise adjustments if the parameters are available. Though the top-shelf tool sets like iZ's 'RX Advanced' work well,
Most audio folks have their go-to favorites so the 'best choice' is somewhat personal.

I am not familiar with Resolve's audio plug's. If they are not propitiatory, they may be available to use in other host apps. The Sound Forge plugs can be used directly in VP's plug-in chainer or integrated into VP through Sound Forge.

I presume you're working on something and it will come as a major upgrade in Vegas 21?

Don't count on it.

Many thanks. Will follow up. Resolve is a "click a button" app within that is quite amazing. I have to manually level which takes a bit of time and effort. Resolve...one click. Its impressive. Happily pay for the same ease of use in Vegas. Thanks for getting back will check out.

VEGAS started as an Audio app and has many great audio tools. A compressor will help keep your audio level. As far as removing background noises, that's harder to say. I do know I've been using the eFX VocalStrip effect to pull out voices covered up by wind noise but am unsure how it would help in your situation. And there are third party tools (one example is IsoTope plugins) that can help in those situations.

The voice isolation is paid version only (US$300), but voice leveling is free version. Voice Leveling is currently buggy and doesn't work on edit page, only fairlight(DAW), when they get it working on edit page it can be a good free tool for Vegas people. Not that users can't use Fairlight, I just wouldn't expect non Resolve users to know quickly how to use it, unlike the edit page version.

I presume you're working on something and it will come as a major upgrade in Vegas 21?

I doubt it, but possibly. These AI background noise removal FX are showing up on many free apps now, Nvidia Broadcast, Discord, OBS as well as free FX for NLEs
