Auto ripple

Just out of interest,

how has the auto ripple been improved in V7. I've used it quite happily since V5 and can't tell any difference. Any enlightenment.

My bugbear is still (and I can't believe no-one else hasn't noticed this) is the removal since V6 of the region selection based on timeline events.

You used to be able to hold the shift key and press ]. This would create a region based on the length of the event. Very useful for rendering lots of bits on the timeline.

Sorry that's 2 topics.

Love your work

especially your early stuff

I think the ripple problem was something to do with dissolves either appearing unwanted or disappearing in certain circumstances - not a common problem but annoying for some.

To make a region based on an event, double click the event - thats how I've always done it.

Yeah I know about the double click, but with shift & ] you could select multiple events AND not use the mouse.

It's an RSI avoidance issue.

If you hold down the shift key and page up/down or right/left arrow, you can see the effect I'm talking about.

It used to be possible to do this with shift and ] and the region would snap to the beginning and ends of events.

Sony???

Yes - I see what you now mean - you originally said THE event so I thought you were talking about just one.
