Auto Trim/Split - Is there A Way to Do This In Vegas Pro?

In Reaper audio software, there is a tool called Auto Trim/Split that will split an audio item on a track into multiple audio items. It will read the silence between "phrases" and automatically create splits at the beginning and ends of phrases. Then as part of that action, it will delete the "silence" sections. This is especially handy when you have a sentence, then silence, then another sentence, then silence, etc. and you want to be able to drag EACH sentence around on the track as its own audio/media item.

Of course you can edit the parameters like how much silence is needed between phrases before you consider that section to require slices. That way it won't slice every word out as its own item, but rather leave silence between words and only put a slice in if there is a full 2 or 3 (whichever you choose) seconds, so it slices out and trims full sentences, etc.

Can Vegas Pro do such a thing?

Thanks!

Yes, if you use Vegasaur's Silence Detector.

You can also configure Vegas to recognize Reapar as your preferred external audio editor and open the Vegas timeline audio files directly in Reaper.

Go to Options / Preferences / Audio and in Preferred Audio Editor choose Reaper.

After, to edit vegas audio directly into Reaper, right-click on the audio event in the vegas timeline and choose Open Copy in Audio Editor.

Any editing you do on the audio event that is in Reaper, now too will be saved automatically on the Vegas Timeline.

That's interesting. I will definitely look into that!
