Autocalculate Video Memory

How come I can't set this to TRUE in the Extended Preferences when the default is TRUE ... it's constantly stuck on FALSE?

Wonder if this would help render something fairly big?

Highly unlikely. Video memory has just about nothing whatsoever to do with rendering.

Besides, if it helped solve some major problems wouldn't it already be enabled?

I don't know ... I just thought it was interesting that the 'default' is supposed to be TRUE ... but the setting is stuck on FALSE ... just thought it might be areason why Vegas is a memory hog somehow ... don't know the technicalities ... I just don't like it when I find something that doesn't seem right ... ?
