Automatic Duck Expresses Interest....

Hello all. New to the official Vegas Video forum. As some of you know Automatic Duck is a fantastic app able to transfer NLE projects in FCP and AVID to Adobe Aftereffects and back again.

I wrote to the company expressing interest in their support of VV3. They replied as very interested. They suggested a rep from Sonic Foundry talks to them and that might get the ball rolling. If VV3 is supported by Automatic Duck, that would really be a fantastic opportunity for VV3.

Here's hoping...

I think this is a great example of what to do. Sonic Foundry can try to twist arms to have 3rd party companies write plug-ins, but it's us users who have to get the requests out there as well.

I was thinking about this whole state of the plugin scene. Here's how I see it...Premiere, without any 3rd party plugins (including the ones it ships with) is sub-par in many ways, especially titling. Companies assume that anyone taking Premiere serously will spend money on plugins almost immediately after installing it. Vegas users, on the other hand, can do so much within VV itself (titling for instance is very, very good compared to Cinestream, Premiere, and other editors in the same ballpark), that perhaps we're simply not seen as a lucrative market. Just a thought! So here's a question...which plugins (or plugin companies) would Vegas benefit most from? Let's get a list, and start writing e-mails!
