Automatic effects for slideshow

Hello everyone:
I have made simple picture slide shows for my clients using Vegas. I know how to make changes in the prop settings so that when I import my images to the time line, the length of the images matches the time of the soundtrack the client provides. I always add effects to the slide show (zoom in, zoom out, pan left & right, etc), but all these effects i have had to add manually, one by one. Is there a way in Vegas to make the images get effects randomly when I import them to the time line? The current project hods about 540 pictures...there has to be an easier way to add motion effects than to do it one by one...any ideas?

Yes - via scripts. Both Excalibur and Ultimate S will do this for you. Here's a sample video showing how the process can be automated.

P.s. I can't tell you which one works better. I wrote Excalibur (full disclaimer) so I'm partial to it. But both will do what you're wanting.

I've used both & found bother very very functional. Last I remember, Ultimate S had better photo-montage like tools but I found Excalibur to have more useful thing I use.

I'd say it's like deciding between steak & lobster. :D

I have both as well and each is simply wonderful. Which one is better: well authors for both are on this forum regularly. It's kind of like asking who is prettier, your wife or your sister when they are both in the room. ;-)

Dude...wife is prettier...always, not a hard question to answer, specially if she is in the room!
