Automatic pause in picture compilation?

I'm putting together text-heavy slideshow (cast biographies) and would like to know if there's a way to automatically set a picture compilation to pause on each chapter so the viewer doesn't have to manually pause on each slide.

Remove the last slide in each chapter compilation.
Make this slide a menu page background.

Add a button to go to the next compilation.
