Autosave and Open Media Folders

OK. I have seen the light and want some scripts!

Does anyone have an AUTOSAVE script?
Save KeyCommands? My key commands dont seem to save for some reason - and yes - I have named my key command in the bar above but it won't load them for some reason. :( Very frustrating.

Also, my preferences don't seem to want load up either. Windows Layouts do save my layouts but I need to assign with each instance.

Lastly...one thing I find annoying is that the MEIDA BINs close often with an UNDO or a new load up of SONY. So I have to go through and click each one to open them to see the names of the folders. Ugh. With projects that are heavily edited with TRIMMED clips, there can be a lot of folders. I'd love a script that opened all the folders/bins up rather than have the plus button next to each one.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP. If you have links to scripts ready made - great - I don't have any! :) m

If you install Excalibur, it also have a free Auto Save script. You can see details here:

Digimik, why would you need an AutoSave script? If you are going to press a toolbar button to run an AutoSave script, why don't you just press the Save button on the toolbar instead?

Excalibur is a Vegas Extension, not a Script. It is lightyears beyond scripting. Extensions are like add-ins that are Modeless to Vegas. That means they can run concurrently with Vegas itself. Scripts are Modal, like the Sony Batch Render script. They can only run when started, and nothing else can run until they finish. So in this context an AutoSave script can't do anything more than what pressing the Save button does.

Ahh...yes...good point about the scripting having to be engaged to save. I guess I want a better AUTOSAVE. Why can't we define how soon it saves? I want every 3 minutes myself. Its not like you notice when the computer is saving. THX for your help everyone.

Any ideas on why my preferences and key commands DO NOT want to save or come up? Strange. The title is there on the key command but nothing loads.

Just a note: Auto Save *IS* a custom command and can automatically save the project every "x" minutes without needing to press any buttons (or do anything else for that matter). Just use Vegas and it will automatically create you a series of backup files as you edit along.

But how long are the save intervals? Also, a couple screenshots coming you way via private email. THX. m
