AV /C Subunit message when hooking firewire with XP

I bought a new TV for my editing bay so I could do "monitor preview" before I do a final render for my projects. When connecting my firewire to the system (running XP) it says that it found a new hardware called "AV /C Subunit". I tried feeding the XP disk but still could not find it. I also tried reinstalling my Audigy driver but still didn't work (firewire hookup through Audigy board).

When I finally did a search on the subject from MS Knowledge Database, it turned out that this is new protocol that Microsoft is testing and it appears to be still in "white paper". I did a thorough search on the internet to find out where I could download the the driver but to no avail.

Please, if any of you had made XP work with Vegas to do "monitor preview", I really need to find out where I could download this driver. Microsoft is saying that this was somehow integrated with Win2K, '98 and '95 but not with WinME and XP.

HELP!

What firewire device are you using to preview?

The firewire device I'm using to preview is integrated with the Audigy board. Windows detects this device in the control panel.

Thanks for all the help.

Are you plugging your Audigy's firewire output into some sort of converter, which is then plugged into your TV? A dedicated little box, or perhaps your camcorder? There's got to be something in the chain; you can't simply go from the firewire port straight to TV unless you've found a television set with a converter built-in?! :)
