Greetings. I am wondering if anyone has tried to edit AVCHD in Vegas and how well did it work. I realize it can be done only with Sony Cameras at this time. Thanks for the info. Roger
Works fine. I downloaded some m2ts files and edited like HDV. I just saved them as 1080i 60 HDV. They look excellent on my 92" projected 1080p display. Only thing missing is the current ability to output m2ts files...
It works, but I wouldn't want to actually edit AVCHD on my PC. Playback was around 2fps in preview mode, so I immediately rendered as Cineform format for editing.
It's better than no support which is what we had before, so I'm not complaining.
It'll be a while before editing AVCHD will be fast/easy without HDI's of some sort or another. The compression is so great that it requires a fast CPU to decode. In other words, the playback framerate is much more CPU/resource related than Vegas related.
