AVCHD video flickers from color to black and white

I usually use my high-end Canon, but it was too big for a trip, so I picked up a Panasonic HC-V700M (PC Mag Editor's Choice--recommended within the forum) that records in AVCHD 1080 p60 and i60 since I wanted HD and small for a cruise to Cozumel.

Most of the video was filmed in 60i, some was 60p. When I view the video everything is fine. However, when I view it within Vegas (11 64, latest version) it flickers back and forth between black and white and color. The rendered video also flickers between color and B&W--making it completely useless.

I know I am trying to edit a compressed format to start with, but I cannot use ANY of the footage--which doesn't make any sense. Is there something I'm doing wrong in the setup, the rendering, etc. to cause this? I've tried several different render formats--the same flicker (just as it is within the preview window).

My project settings are 720 x 480 (want to watch on standard DVD), progressive, 29.97, 32 bit floathing, good resolution, etc. Nothing too out of the ordinary.

Ideas?

I was rendering at first with MainConcept AVC. The video flickered and was dull. I just rendered using the Sony AVCHD codec and it is brilliant color and NO flicker. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yes I have had an occasional issue with color flickers like that inside main concept. If I remember it was when I was in 32 bit mode. I quit using 32 bit mainly because it is resource intensive for nothing much gained.
