AVI and Mpeg2 Do I....?

Question fellows, If I render my project to AVI and it takes approximatel 2 hours to print to tape, Then I want to put that AVI to Mpeg2 for DVDA do I have two render the project twice one as AVI the other to Mpeg2?

I'm using Vegas5d and DVDA 2.

Thank you I just don't want to render twice.

Basically, yes. If you just take your edited project and do a print to tape, it will only render the sections that need rendering so you don't have to create a full length AVI file. But, yes, it ultimately has to go to AVI to print to tape.

Then you have to render to MPEG2 for the DVD. Whether it's done in Vegas or DVDA, it still has to be done.
