AVI files are just a wrapper - what does your AVI file actually contain? It could be that DVDA simply doesn't have access to the correct codec to read your AVI file. Download a copy of GSPOT to find out what's in your file if you don't already know.

The file is a video off my digital camera. I'm trying to have it playing in the background of the main page.

And you told me nothing. It could be DV, it could be MJPEG, it could be anything. My bet is it's MJPEG in which case you probably don't have a codec installed on your machine that an handle it, hence your problem

Try downloading and installing the Morgan Multimedia MJPEG codec. That works for most video that comes off of still cameras.

You should realize, though, that the quality of those still camera videos is pretty low, especially depending on what resolution was used.
