avi Clip Suddenly Not Playing On Timeline

I have a project with about 30 avi clips on my project timeline. All clips have played fine for the past week. About 10 minutes ago, two of the avi files no longer play, i.e., I just get a blank preview window display when the timeline cursor passes through these events. The associated audio track plays fine, just no picture.

Any idea what could cause such a sudden problem?

Very strange. I closed the project and re-opened it and now all the avi clips play fine. Must be some kind of a temporary problem.

Maybe possibly related to available memory on my hard drive? It was starting to get a little low.

That's a reasonable guess. Vegas uses memory not only for timeline media, but also for all the undo and redo buffers in your current editing session. Saving and re-opening the project, and even a system reboot, is standard fare for Vegas.
