AVI file to large

I have created a video using still images. There are about
25 in all. I put in some text and added music. I rendered
the project in an avi format so I could put it on CD. The
file size is 822mb which is to large for a Cd. Do you have
any suggestions on how to make the file smaller? I have
Video Factory version 1.0 Build 21. I do not have the tabs
in the render as dialog box when you select custom button.
I read about these tabs in the book but I do not have them.
Hummm? Thank you in advance for any input.

Hi,

There are a number of ways you can make the AVI file you
are creating use less disk space:

1) Lower the resolution of your project
2) Compress the video with another codec or at lower bitrate
3) Compress the audio or lower its quality

The tabs that you are looking for are at the bottom of the
window. Is it possible this is off the bottom of your
screen? I have seen this happen to people who run their
monitors at very low resolutions before.

If it is just a data CD for viewing purposes, try using one
of the wmv, real, QT, or MPEG templates.

Thank you so much for the info on the tabs. They were off
the screen. I thought I got cheated. THANKS. Makes me
happy. I will try what you suggested. The video I made is
for other people to view and I thought putting it in avi
format would ensure that they could view it because
everyone has media player on their computer. Im not sure of
the other formats.

Almost everybody (even the Mac guys) can open MPEG1.
