Why when I put two .avi files on the timeline to save as one .avi file does the resulting file come up as a project or veg file?
I added a new (rendered) intro to a long (rendered) project.
I'm hoping I don't have to re-render this to get an .avi.
Pardon my confusion.
a VEG file is the Project file. This file holds all of the edit instructions for the video/timeline/effects.
If you want to merge two AVI files, you will need to render to a NEW AVI file. The VEG file just tells the Vegas program what to do with the AVI files, it does not contain any video or audio.
