a VEG file is the Project file. This file holds all of the edit instructions for the video/timeline/effects.

If you want to merge two AVI files, you will need to render to a NEW AVI file. The VEG file just tells the Vegas program what to do with the AVI files, it does not contain any video or audio.

Sherman, as long as you don't change any of the project settings, you should fly through this revised render once the intro is done.
