What does one do with such a codec after he downloads it?

1. Extract and execute the exe file from the zip file

2. go in to the vfw configuration and enable mjpeg decoding

Sorry to keep on asking newbie questions but whats vfw?

VFW is video for windows. What you need to do is run the "VFW codec configuration" for FFDSHOW. When you ran the install program for the ffdshow codec it should have put an ffdshow enty under programs or all programs with several program choices. Selectt or run VFW codec configuration. Select the decoder tab. Scroll down to mjpeg on the right side. Change the decoder from disabled to libavcodec. Exit out of the program and start Vegas Movie Studio. You should now be able to add the S3 movies to the movie with both video and sound.
