avi not loading - V.7.0

Only the audio shows on the timeline.

I've upgraded to the latest free version of Movie Studio 7.0.

I've downloaded a couple MJPEG and XVID codecs. None have helped but the first MJPEG codec I downloaded resulted in the new message "RUNdll32 stopped working" whenever I open Studio now.

I still can't see video.

Any help?

There have been several posts here about this topic - search for avi or mjpeg.

I did search, and what I found was either you moved your file since the last time you used it, not possible since this is the first time I've actually loaded Movie Studio and tried to open a file or I needed to download codecs, which as I stated I tried and it didn't work. Is there something more, am I missing something? I'm not seeing any other suggestions in the past posts I've gone through

First you need to tell us what kind of video you are trying to load. Is it AVI from digicams, in which case it's MJPEG, or is it XViD/DivX AVI in which case you need an xvid decoder?
